The exchange and gifting of seeds is an old and continuing tradition among the agricultural communities of the Malnad region.

Farmers, gardeners and seed savers associated with Vanastree continue to conserve and share traditional varieties of vegetables, greens and flowers through a community-supported seed network. These organic, open-pollinated seeds are suited to food gardens and urban terraces across the Indian subcontinent.
